Use this spider plant care checklist to track soil drying, leaf changes, light, and pests. Adjust your routine when the season changes or the plant starts drying at a different rate.

Daily or every few days
- ✓ Check whether the top layer of soil is actually dry before watering.
- ✓ Look for yellowing, browning, curling, or sudden limp growth.
- ✓ Make sure the plant still has decent light and has not drifted into a darker spot.
Weekly
- ✓ Water thoroughly if the soil has dried enough.
- ✓ Rotate the plant if growth is leaning heavily toward one side.
- ✓ Inspect leaves and leaf undersides for pests or sticky residue.
Monthly
- ✓ Clean dust from leaves if needed.
- ✓ Check drainage holes and overall pot condition.
- ✓ Flush excess salts occasionally if fertilizer or hard water is building up.
Seasonally
- ✓ Adjust watering and feeding with the season instead of keeping the same routine all year.
- ✓ Check whether repotting, propagation, or division makes sense in active growth periods.
- ✓ Watch more closely for dry air in winter and harsher light in summer.
